I became a local guide by accident, a friend of mine during work, showed me the platform and incentive me to join the community.
At first, I didn’t actually see a reason why to spread and share my experiences and evaluations of places I went around town. But once I started, it actually showed that the information I shared was being searched in a big amount on google.
Infos about bars, coffee shops, restaurants, night clubs, all different kind of places.
It was awesome!
And after I started this journey, about a year ago, I couldn’t stop anymore.
I started taking pictures of all the places I visited and tried to transform my opinions in details the places could get better.
And then my friend and I started to visit a lot of coffee shops, on my old work, we hang out about two or three times during the week, so we got to go to many different coffees.
Suddenly, I saw myself posting only about that. About coffees and restaurants that we went.
Also, I started dating back then, and my boyfriend and I loved going to coffee shops. So it was everything connecting.
Now I consider myself a really good local guide, with critical opinions about products, food, services in general.
You can trust in my opinion and I’ll trust in yours.

Hello @sarahaqueiroz ,
Thank you for sharing your story! I just wanted to let you know that I have removed the Portuguese (Brazilian) language tag of your post as it’s written in English. These types of labels are used so that posts in different languages can be found more easily by Local Guides who are speakers of these languages. You can learn more about language tags in the article: How do I find posts in my preferred language?.
