Would like to tell my own personal experience on, why I am so connected to maps personally and how the MAPS is making things easy for people and society. When I was a kid, my Father used to plan family trips. The only travel preference he used to give was, to reach the place through Roads. Reason being that, a person would learn distinct cultures and customs that existed at different places due to encountering places and people during the road trip. Road trips requires a complete knowledge about the various routes to the destination without any benefit of doubt. Struggling used to be a part of journey due to the doubts about the routes and as a result we used to end up stopping every one or two hours to track if we are on the right route. But with maps coming into picture, now all I do is, just enter the destination and start the navigation, Thats it and I need not stop anywhere else to find out if I am on the right route or not. All I do is follow the instructions and reach the destination.This amazed my father a lot and he ended up saying that “if I would have access to maps in those days, I would have taken you for total country trip”.
Since I have benefitted a lot from maps, I have decided to help and improve Maps. I started adding all new places and local businesses that I visit and that I can to the maps. Not just providing the exact location but also I try and add the review and photos so that they help the local business grow and people get access to the location easily. I really started loving and enjoying this work a lot and will continue doing it.
