I am Joe, 36 years old and a passionate local guide.
Google maps has been part of my life since 2005 when it was first released for browsers on personal computers. As I was always interested in geography it made my hobby easy and digital. Also I always loved to travel. Google maps helped me to plan trips and routes.
When maps got more and more features and finally went mobile I was blown away. Now I was able to check for restaurants, points of interests and the best or most scenic routes. And all that is now connected to an incredible innovative, communictive and international community which I love a lot.
Today me and my girlfriend cannot imagine our daily life without maps and local guides. It takes us to incredible places and prevents us from doing mistakes others already made. The community is so strong and I hope it will continue to grow! Hopefully I will experience this awesome community during Local Guides connect this october in the Bay Area.
