What was my first experience with Google maps? Honestly I don not remember.
Surely, I remember my first bad experience with Google maps, not exactly app, just issue with existed information. On that day I was searching for nearest 24/7 Pharmacy in my city Dushanbe. I discovered that many information provided on that time were not accurate i.e. wrong contact numbers, working hours, address and so on. I realized that Google maps will be even more useful if each of us tries to make his modest contribution.
This is how my mission as a local guide begun . I started adding nonexistent places, shops, pharmacy, small business as well as checking information like adding working time, websites, and accessibility. It make me feel that my contribution to Map might help others to find what they need.
I mostly like to check existed information about local businesses as well as adding reviews about places I visited and thing I know.
I notice that day by day my reviews are viewing by more and more peoples. And Analyzing Google Maps users question help me to understand what kind of information they are searching mostly. So I am trying to make my reviews as wide as possible.
When local guides provides accurate information on Google map, it will help others:
- To save their time for searching nearest places and businesses, cheapest fast food, beauty salon…
- To save their money by providing shortest routes
- Provide them many ideas about places to go, restaurants
……and many other benefits of help from local guides to others.
