I have read other posted answers to this question. It says to select “menus” from google maps. Then to select “my contributions”. Either I don’t even know how to open the menus, or the next option isn’t there. But I’m selecting my face, which I thought was “menus” Do I not know what I’m doing?
@ZackDaddy if the video shared by @KashifMisidia isn’t clear enough, most of us and possibly yourself would have already got the new Google Maps Interface for the 15th anniversary of Google Maps. Many of the help topics are still based on the older interface (some users are still on the old interface).
If you are on the new interface, which is highly likely
Open Maps
Look for the “Contributions” tab at the bottom, click on that.
In your Contribute profile, you should see a “Contribute More” button in blue, click on that
Scroll down the list until you see “Check the facts”, select that
In the same place, you can also “Uncover more info” and “Answer Questions”

From your image, I’m guessing you are on an Android phone. IOS is a whole other story.

Please follow the instructions here and for iOS devices keep in mind you need to click on:
Contribute + > scroll down and look for Contribute Now (click on the blue link below the blue balloon) > it will lead you to a topic “Improve the map near you” and then you will see the Check the facts option which you need to choose. I hope this helps.
@MortenCopenhagen I’m not seeing “check the facts”. This is so frustrating. I don’t even know what “the hamburger menu” is. Lol

“Hamburger menu” is slang for the menu icon in the top left corner of your screen. It has 3 vertical lines.

Tap Contribute
then
“scroll down and look for Contribute Now (click on the blue link below the blue balloon) > it will lead you to a topic “Improve the map near you” and then you will see the Check the factsoption which you need to choose.” as suggested by @KatyaL
I don’t have the new version on my iPad yet so it is not very easy for me to guide you more precisely.

@MortenCopenhagen @KatyaL @StephenAbraham @KashifMisidia I appreciate all of your help. But I’m not seeing the option for “improve maps”. I’ve checked many times that i have the latest version of maps, and I’ve tried (I think) using maps through a web browser. I can make sure I’ve tried that I guess. But it’s definitely missing from the iOS app.

At the bottom you see the card you are looking for.
It is a known issue that answering questions is not available on IOS.

@MortenCopenhagen Thanks for this screen shot. So this LOOKS like you’ve selected a place first. Then I guess you choose “contribute more” From the “overview”? Only I just don’t see that option when I am on a place on google maps. I can’t help but thinking I’m running a different version of google maps, or something. Attached is a screenshot of the overview of a place I chose for comparison.

We indeed are running different versions. That is one of the reasons why this has not been solved already.
Nope, I have not selected a place prior to the screenshot above.
I don’t see a screenshot from you. From exploring (normal map view with no place selected) you tap Contribute. Then take the screenshot. When I see that I will suggest the next step.

@MortenCopenhagen Ok. In my screenshot, all I did was select “contribute” from the menu. I just don’t see “contribute more” or “add roads”.
