Hi local guides, we all love travelling and experiencing the beauty and nature of the world. While that is a good part of it, some are getting encountered with unpleasant condition which may worsen their travel experience and joy. It’s called motion sickness that is mainly characterised by nausea, vomiting, headache, malaise and so on. It can be everywhere from roads, air sickness or in the boats. I know we have different approaches which of course may HELP our local guides to handle the situation in case they encounter it during their travel. Please share with us how is you or your community usually handle this unpleasant feeling from distracting their travel joy so that our community can have a best travel experience always.
Hello!
The most important thing on the road is not to look at the phone or other gadgets that requires your concentration. This is very powerful.
Another good way is to stock up with peppermint candies or peppermint chewing gum. If rocked, they relieve the feeling of nausea.
Sparkling mineral water also helps.
Everything is checked by myself :))
Take care!
Hi @HabibuHussein thank you for sharing your post, I am one of the people who travel a lot on land using long distance bus or taxi travel. Based on land travel using a vehicle is best to eat health food, more water and give your self enough time to rest during a refreshment stop if you are using your own transport.
When using public transport is best to choose adjustable seats enabling you to take a nap when you feel like you need one, this is mostly applicable on a bus. This kinds of sickness you can get used to it if you travel a lot just like me, and your body become resilient to it.
When travelling on a plane is best to stretch each and every two hours, drink more water, and try to move up and down if possible, on my first flight in life I spent more than 24 hours on a flight. That was easy to manage by following what I have mentioned above suggested by others. Cheers!
Yes or consume it as tea or even in some sources they say if you have headache you can wrap it with a bandana on your forehead. Fresh lemon also works but some people are allergic to lemon @HabibuHussein
After arrival from your flight, no matter which time it is during the day and how tired you feel, try to adapt to your destination’s time schedule as quickly as possible.
For example, if you would arrive at 11AM, and normally it would be 1AM at your home, try to stay awake until at least 10PM. This is very hard, but try to stick through and it will make your jetlag more handleable.
