The other day on my walk home I realised that I use an underpass which is not on the map, it goes under a very long and very busy road that is 9 times out of 10 unappeasable due to heavy traffic.
So I thought I would see if I could add it to the maps but realised that was no option for anything like that, I tried to see how I could contact Google but there seemed no way to do it on this issue and so I thought it would be best to ask the community
Any one have any idea how to add an underpass to the Maps? It would certainly help people knowing they could cross in safety.
Towns, roads and squares are elements of the Map Layer. Local Guides cannot edit that layer. Only Google Maps team can.
What we can do, for helping the team, is to report an error on Google Maps, through the “send a feedback” that you will find scrolling down your menu on Google Maps.
On the Google maps App I have an option to ‘add a road’ and adding a subway that goes under a road for use of foot traffic, seems the same thing to me.
There is no error on the map, the map just has a faint grey line (which can only be seen when super zoomed in) but is not listed as an underpass/subway and I think it would make sense if it did, just like having the ability to add a road makes sense for users.
So the reason I’m asking is here is because it is within the remit of local guides to ad roads ( otherwise why would it be an option to do so on the app? ) so how can this be done with foot traffic only underpass/subway.
