How do I get others to follow my Google Maps profile?
When I use Google Maps, when I see other people’s profiles, there is a follow function. But my profile can follow others but there is no button for others to follow me. Please tell me how can I add a follower button to my profile as well.

Regarding your question, you need to enable following on your Maps profile. I also suggest that you make sure that you have the latest version of both Google Maps and the Android OS. Finally you could try clearing your cache - logout from your account, clear your cache and login again. If however you do not have your profile restricted and both your Maps and Android app are up to date, it may still be rolling out to you area and if so, then please be patient.

@manulc The best (only) way to get followed is to be seen and to be useful. While people love following people from around the world to get a glimpse of other tastes and cultures its most useful to follow local people so you can find out new things about your own local area. Follow to be followed.

P.S.: I also wanted to let you know that you can tag Connect members. In this case they receive a notification and are able to view your comments right away. You can do it by putting the symbol “@” in front of the nickname.
on the contrary, there is no option for other people to follow me.

To make sure a Local Guide reads your answer in a thread, you can tag them in your comment, as @Bobiisha already suggested. To do that you just need to digit the symbol @ and type the username (without space in between) until it appears in the little pop-up window where you can select it from.
