How do I get my posts back?

I had a post wrongly gone into spam. One of the mods fished it out and published it. I made an edit and it disappeared again. Also I posted a photo post just with photos and it didnt publish either. No error message no pending status just gone. Im new, all a bit frustrating. Maybe Im doing something wrong?

This whole post disappearing thing is quite frightening. I have changes I would like to make to one of my posts, but I had heard seen where someone had said if you made changes, your post could be marked as spam. I think this automated spam detector is too sensitive :frowning:

I apologize about this but yes, the spam filters are quite sensitive for numerous reasons and the algorithms are difficult to understand.

Daniel, I found one of your posts in the spam quarantine about lists, read through it and seems fine, so I’ve released it.

If either of you run into this problem in the future, you’re welcome to either tag a Connect Moderators or a Google Moderator to pull the post out of spam.

Thanks @Shirley , much appreciated. I had pm-ed a moderator, but there was no reply, so I posted the message here. I assume you didn’t see my photo post about Mt Fuji by any chance?

Hi @danieldreimer :

I overlooked that one the first time! Best to put some words or context when posting photos. A post with only photos, especially a lot of photos, seems to get caught quite often by the spam filter.

As for pm, not all of us check or even have pm. Best to post publicly unless if absolutely necessary.

Hey @Shirley , I was wondering if you could help with information on Connect Live application. I did the application and received a thank you message in the browser, but I did not receive a confirmation email. Somewhere in the instructions it said there would be a confirmation email within a day. I submitted few days ago, so now I’m worried it has not gone through. Any ideas about that?

Hi @danieldreimer :

Have you had a chance to check your spam/junk mail of your email?

The other thing you can try to do is to submit an application again using the same email account. If the application have gone through, you would not be able to apply again and it should say you have already applied. Let me know what you find.

Hi @Shirley , thanks for your reply. There was no email in the junk or spam folders, but on the application site https://maps.google.com/localguides/event/connectlive it says that I have already submitted my applicaiton. So I guess, I cross my fingers and hope that is has gone through? I was just surprised, because on the FAQs section it said explicitly that there would be a confirmation email. I put a lot of work into the application, I just don’t want it to be lost :wink:

Thanks for the reminder! I did raise your specific issue with the team. They said they would look into it. They have had some system issues in the last 24 hours so they may have been back logged but let me see where they are at with it!

@danieldreimer : It was confirmed to me that the workaround (trying to apply again) is a way to verify if your application went through. So if you tried to apply again and it indicates you’ve already applied, then your application was received!! Sorry for the delay in reply. Good luck!!
