How do I fix the name of a non pinned place?

This place, Presa De Tavera, is a Dam in a river located north part of my country, according to Google. The name is misspelled in Google, It’s actually a mess, because in one side it says Taveras and in the other it says, Taveras.

The correct name is Tavera. Also, The town limit is not placed correctly. It says "Presa de Tavera, but the tow name is Tavera… Check at these series of screenshots:

When I click on Fix wrong information, I don’t get the option to fix the name as seen in the screenshots above.

The name on the lake is not clickable to fix. If I click the name of the “town”, I get a list of the businesses, but not the chance to change of the town itself.

As this place, there are other of wrong names in some other local dams and some other communities around the country. I wanted to fix those misspelled names, but I can’t even get to find where to edit something that is not a place/business created by someone, I don’t get an edit option.

Any help on how can I do this? I’ll really appreciate it.

Thanks for documenting the problem. Such data issues are not directly related to the Local Guides Program, so I think you to also seek help on this in the Maps support forum.

Please see this link to learn how to use the Maps support forum successfully.

You can reuse or simply link to your post here in the Maps support forum.

If you could also add some documentation from a local authority it would be easier to et fixed.

Cheers
Morten

Hi @IDRIALIS

We cannot edit the map layer, so we cannot change the name or boundaries of a town, or fix a lake name.

Only Google Maps team can do that.

So it is correct to address the issue to the Google Maps Help center, as suggested by @MortenCopenhagen .

However, providing an official documentation when asking for a change in this case is not an option, is a must, otherwise the proposed changes will not be taken in consideration.

Google Maps need an official governative document to change the map.

The example shared is a different story, because we have the ability to suggest a chance in a road also through the App. A shape is very different from a village, Morten, and the two features, even if similar, should not be confused.
