How do I delete an address in Google Maps ? I can create new addresses, but how do I delete a wrong address ?
In the photo I have marked two number 1 and a 303 that must be deleted, but how ? Can I do it my self or will I have to report these wrong addresses ?
I found this guide that says Click Suggest an edit - Close or remove. But I do not have the option to “Close or remove”
None of the below options gives me the option to remove or close
Hi @Kim6071
Thanks for asking an interesting question.
Addresses and Places are very different, and that is why the procedure to remove places does not work for addresses.
3 or 4 years back I found that moving an address simply duplicated it. This issue might have caused or is still causing duplicates of addresses.
I suggest you check on another device or clear the cache to check there are really 3 number 303.
I tend to believe that we are not able to remove such duplicate addresses.
So all you are left with is seeking help on this in the Maps support forum.
Hit the Community tab at the top and make a post. You need to be super precise and include Maps links to all three addresses. And spell out which is the one to remain on the map.

Thanks
I also tried to move a wrong house number/address like 303 to the next house and change it to 305. But 303 still remains on the map. So it seems that it is still duplicating when moving an address.
I just tried the same on a Place (did not know that places and addresses are not the same) and it seems that I can remove or close it, so guess this option is only for Places.

It would be very helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply. Just hitting Reply does not ensure we get notified by email.
Thanks for testing and confirming my old finding.
