How do I contribute to Google Maps

I’m a technical lover and I always try yo explore the thing where technologies are

How did I start

It was 2009, I got my first phone that has internet connection. Someone asked me about the Google and i tried it. Then I found the maps there. I amazed with map that can also show my home clearly. I was searching for my favorite places there.

Smartphone

In 2013 i got the smartphone. Firstly I installed the google map there. And I downloaded offline maps to see my favorite places frequently.

And then I saw there is a option there to contribute on google maps.

How I contribute

Everyday where I go, I find the place on google maps. Then I try find some highlighted places nearby. If don’t see that places, I try to add them. I also take some photos of the place and I add those to maps.

What I get benefited

Actually being a local guide, I don’t expect to get the results. But it’s a competition for me. I alway try to reach the level.

What makes me feel happy

Sometimes when I try to add a place, ask the owner so informations. When the person get informed that his institution or business will be shown on google, I see he feels so happy and show his interest to give me more informations.

What bad things I face

Sometimes when I try to take photos of a office or a specific area the authority ask me why I’m taking this photo. Sometimes they don’t allow to take photo or they thing that I will make some income by adding this on google maps.

@Azmirul you have quite nicely shared your experience about contributing towards Google maps.

Yes you are right in most of the cases the authorities get offended if we take photos. Seeking their prior permission is good.

Hello @Azmirul

Welcome to Connect!

Yes, contributing on maps is always a fun, enjoyable matter.
And if someone tells not to capture a photo, I try one time to make him/her understand. But if they do not understand I immediately leave the place. And in some places (like restricted area) we shouldn’t take any photos.

Thanks for your contributions,
