I am a local guide from Hong Kong and for some reasons I can’t upload photos there (locations won’t load, even with WiFi, my friend’s phone is the same ). And now I’m on a vacation in the US and I can load locations. Is there a way I can change my country to US so I can upload photos in Hong Kong?

@JerryLiuHK The ability to upload photos will depend on the eligibility of area that you’re contributing. So there’s nothing you need to change on your end. I was in Hong Kong a few years back and had no issue uploading photos. Didn’t have to change anything on my end, even though I’m currently based in US.
What @KashifMisidia mentioned is to show where you currently reside in. The Local Guides team will use the location you put on your profile page to determine perks eligibility, event invite, and basically anything that relates to that particular region.

Yeah that shouldn’t happen. Maybe it was just a temporary thing? Can you ask anyone you know in Hong Kong to try and upload a photo to the location above? Or maybe if anyone reading this that are based in Hong Kong to try this.
If it doesn’t work, try to use VPN, different service providers to pinpoint the issue. Sometimes ISP likes to do funky things on their own that creates issue (at least that’s how it goes with ISP in Indonesia)

@JerryLiuHK I am from India. One thing I have noticed is that it is not possible to upload new photos to a popular place via phone app if it already has lots of photos. But, you can still upload to that place from a desktop PC. Check to see if you can upload from PC.
