Hello! I absolutely love being a Local guide and, although I am also working towards reaching a higher level, I would love to have a bigger role in the Local guide community! I was wondering how you can become a community moderator, and what the next steps would be towards achieving that goal?
Local Stories, and Meet-ups experiences. Where Local Guides from all around the world get together to learn more about the program and Google Maps. Firstly you should interact with more people by Virtual Meet-ups, you can find many meet-ups by this Meet-up site.
For your question about How you become A Community Moderator, Now there are no community moderators but we have Connect Moderators at Local Guides Connect. And I want to let you know that Connect moderators are Local Guides like you and me. There is no application or nomination process to become a connect moderator.
You may get an opportunity to become a Connect moderator based upon your consistent contributions to the community. So Keep contributing and engaging with fellow Local Guides.
Further, This post About Connect Moderators will help you learning about Criteria to become a Connect Moderator.
Hello @gracie-lee
Apart from the helpful links you have got now, I wish to add something further,
I would classify the Local Guide activity progression in four stages.
Sharing experience & photos through reviews in Maps.
Supporting to improve the information in Maps. That can be through the addition of new places or correction of the errors in the current one.
Raising the level to a group working through the meetups & then making a concerted effort to improve Maps.
Sharing the experience here on Connect & helping the community to resolve problems & glitches.
However, regarding your wish to become a Connect moderator, a consistent presence on Connect & continued contribution to the community may help in providing you with that opportunity in long run.
