How do i add a monument to Google Maps?

I recently joined the local guides to be able to contribute to google maps. Many monuments aren’t on the maps. I could’nt find monument among categories on the form. Please, can I have a tips to follow?

Hi @soumaila77

To Add an monument

Click Add a missing place from the menu option in google maps
Switch to satellite mode, then zoom in and drop the marker at the exact location.
Select the category (Historical place/Tourist attraction), Address from the drop-down menu.
Enter the phone number of the monument’s office, working hours , photos and website address (if available)
Click Save to finish.

If you provide all the details of the monuments , chance of approval is very more.

Note : Keep your GPS on at the time of adding an missing place

I just wanted to let you know that monument category are not available on Google Maps. I would like to suggest you in that case you could use Tourist Attraction or Historic Site.

I have a request for local guides from Gorlice and the surrounding area. Can you add a Monument to the Heroes of the Gorlice Region to the map? It’s the one on the slope of the Haller estate. My attempts are immediately rejected

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve removed your French tag since the post is in English. Keep in mind that language labels are marked when you are using a specific language and helps Local Guides find posts in the language they speak or are interested in.

Locations are marked separately and should not be mixed with the language.

Hi! I’m trying to add a monument too, but the drop down menu doesn’t show “Tourist Attraction or Historic Site”. What are the better categories for public/monument places?
