How do determine the impact of my contributions as a Local Guide?

Where can I get the following information:

  1. How many people my contributions might have helped?

I want this information so that I can decide whether I should continue volunteering as a Google local guide or not.

Hi @Vyom_Wadhwana

Are you aware of the contribution statistics available to you under Contribute?

Including but not limited to:

You can see the total number of views your new places have received.

You can see how many times your reviews have been seen and liked.

Under photos you can see views and likes for each photo you have uploaded.

And under badges you can see a lot more details (only in apps not on desktop)

What more do you want? Please make and share illustrated examples of what more you would like to see.

Thankyou so much for your reply. This is the exact information I am looking out for.

But I am not able to find these statistics under my contributions. Please find below the screenshot.

Hi @Vyom_Wadhwana

I can see that you are using a computer and not a mobile phone. Try using an Android smartphone and install the Google Maps app. Just hit the Contribute icon and all the statistics and badges will be there for you after you have logged in using your Google account.

Iā€™m away from my desktop computer so maybe someone else could help you with the desktop steps. But it is better to use an android device (an android tablet is also good.)

We get feedback about the usefulness of our contribution through these measures.

  1. Likes to review.
  2. The number of viewers who read the reviews.
  3. Likes to photos
  4. The number of viewers who have seen those photos.

On a desktop, you can note likes to each review or photo. The aggregation is visible only in the app.

Beyond that, the AI keeps on sifting through the reviews and then selects the better ones to show as featured. You may get a notification occasionally mentioning that.

Now one more measure is introduced recently. You can have followers who are keen to see your contributions.

BTW I find a high proportion of your reviews are now private. That is an indirect measure of Non-usefulness of reviews and photos. Like the AI selects the best ones, opposite can also happen & then the program hides the reviews & photos from public view which are not conforming to the Maps user-contributed content policies.
Then there is no question of any usefulness of these private photos & reviews.
You have to edit those reviews to make that public again.
