How come I am being reduced to L-9 from 10 two days ago

It’s not an idea but plain observation on my decreasing points. Case in point, before March 2020, I reached Level 10 having earned ober 100,000 points and towards Mar 22, my point reached 103,000 due to my consistent reviews and photo uploads. Now, March 25 at 11:45, I noteced that I am now being reduced to Level 9 with only 98.793 and was 99,89 few minutes back.

How can this be? I need an explanation Pls.

Hi @Artibal . in addition to @FredPacheco on point info, maybe this had something to do with their remote work and reduced people on Google headquarters. I saw something similar on my profile twice in the last week.

First time, all my answers points disappeared. Back 2 or 3 days later. Now, something and 300 points gone… hopefully will show up again in a few days. Will wait before making a request.

And adding places is taking longer to approve.

Hopefully things will work better once working hours are back to normal worldwide?

Please check your My Activity page and you’ll be able to see answers you shared and control what is saved:

  • If you have the 3 month/18 month deletion enabled, it will delete the answers to questions about places for that period.
  • If you delete answers to questions during any time frame, they will be deleted from Google Maps, and as a result, your Local Guides points will be removed for those contributions.

Also sometimes there might be a belated synchronization of your points, so if you notice this happening again, force log-out of your profile, clear the maps history, cache and any saved cookies and try logging in again.

If you notice that your loss of points is not related to the intentional deletion of your activity, please tag me and we will look into it.
