A few years ago, my sister and I went to the Polynesian Cultural Center.
It is in Laie, a town on the North Shore of the Oahu island in Hawaii.
Inside the center you can try activities and see shows in six Polynesian villages.
The fire dance show at night was especially spectacular.
However, fire and dance were very difficult subjects to take pictures.
If I tried to capture a beautiful movement, it became a blurred photograph.
Videos are better to remember good times. However, photos are quicker to take than videos, and it’s artistic to capture a great moment as a photo.
Also, I don’t like flash very much.
I may be able to take more beautiful photos using a flash, but I want to take natural photos using the sunlight.
At noon, a man climbed a tree in a Polynesian village to get coconuts and cook them.
Generally, women, especially mothers, cook for the family. But in this village, men mainly cook for their families.
He also showed us how they traditionally light a fire, but it was too small to take a picture of it.
If I was a professional photographer, maybe I could have used the zoom function well?
I want to try various functions by taking many pictures.
