How can I plan a tourist route without Google Trips?

This is the first time I comment in this community, I don’t know if this is the right place for this question / suggestion.

With the recent closure of Google Trips I lost several resources that I can’t find, mainly:

  • Planning custom routes, so that we understand “Daily Google Travel Plans” but customizable, option that was in Google Trips. The closest thing I have found is My Maps, but it cannot be compared, nor does it tell you how to move between points and of course it does not optimize the route.
  • Super useful amount of destination information, categories such as: food and drink, moving around the city, important information … I have found that this is also discussed in this post.

I would like to know how to access these resources if they are available somewhere in the Google ecosystem. Otherwise, know if there are plans to introduce them in Google Travel and / or launch a substitute Google Trips application that includes these options.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @MiguelML

On https://www.google.com/travel/ you can find your old trip, plan a new trip, and modify a trip already planned.

You will find a lot of helpful explanation and links to specific help pages just visiting https://www.google.com/travel/ .

The information to build or to manage your trip are collected through the integrations with other Google products, like Gmail, Calendar and Google Maps (e.g. a flight reservation email, or a search in Google Maps for a destination, or an hotel, or a place saved as “to visit”

You can read more here: https://support.google.com/travel/answer/9098125

Your past trip are available in there too, just scrolling down the page

Hello @ErmesT ,
I don’t know if I haven’t explained myself well, but I mean planning routes between tourist points, obviously I already know how Google Travel works and modify my trip.
Thanks.

Hi @MiguelML ,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

As @ErmesT already mentioned, the Google trips feature is not available anymore, so you can find more available resources on https://www.google.com/travel/.

If you have any idea about improving anything around, you are more than welcome to share it with us on the Idea Exchange board.
