I have a lot of photos in my archive, and I added them to “Google Photos” service as Albums when I want to add a photo to a place in google map, I need to infinite scrolling.
How can I add an album (in Google photos) to a place in Google Maps?
Hi, @SohrabPourkhalili ,
It sounds like a great idea, but I’m afraid you can’t do that.
May I suggest that you post this as a new feature in the Idea Exchange so others can then vote for it.
PS: I hope you are aware that you can post individual photos directly from Google Photos to Google Maps.
Cheers
Hi @SohrabPourkhalili thank you for reaching out.
That will be a nice thing to be able to add photos as an album to save time, please follow what @MortenCopenhagen has suggested, sharing this idea, the local guides team will take a look at it and see if it can be implemented.
My suggestion for you is to try to avoid adding photos as a bundle without monitoring and double checking if you are adding correct relevant photos of that location, my reasoning is that you said you experiencing infinite scrolling, meaning that you have many photos on your archive, that might be dangerous as you will end up uploading e-relevant photos or duplicates.
Thank you.
Hello @SohrabPourkhalili
Though your idea is wonderful I am afraid that would go contrary to another suggestion in the idea exchange that is to restrict the number of photo uploads to a place per contributor.
Further, in my opinion, the best practice to post photos on Maps is to go through -->contribute -->contribute now → post your photos. Here app will tag photos to the correct place-based on the geolocation.
There too, you should be going through that regularly to post the photos as soon as you click.
Nevertheless, a better solution to your problem would be posting photos through a desktop where one can scroll through the collection quite fast.
Hello @SohrabPourkhalili ,
As correctly mentioned above by @MortenCopenhagen and @Raphael-Mahumane you can share one photo at a time to Google Maps when using Google Photos.
More about sharing photos on Google Maps you may find in the Add, remove, or share photos and videos article.
I really appreciate the suggestion by @Raphael-Mahumane , which is professional advice. It is important to check if you’re adding correct photo or not.
But to avoid long scrolling I suggest you search the similar parts of the file names of the photos in an album.
Another way is going to your album > edit album (from the top menu) > Add places. Then add a respective place to the album and when you want to add photos on Google Maps, after pressing the Add Photo, search the name of the location in the photo search field to show all related photos.
Dear @Amiran , thank you for your help and advice.
But unfortunately, this feature doesn’t work properly most of the time because I’ve tried it before.
In addition, this feature is available in Google Photos and the Google Map has not been searched at all.
Sad to hear it. Because as I tested on Google Maps desktop, it works fine most of the time. I didn’t test on app.
