Is there another way to remove a business listing from Google Maps other than suggesting an edit via the app or website? I have reported this listing multiple times to Google, but every report has been unsuccessful.
The listing in question is named “Sears Window Replacement”, which to my knowledge was never ran out of this location even when a Sears department store occupied the building. Sears permanently closed several years ago and the entire building now sits vacant, so they are not a tenant.
Sears’ Window Replacement division has claimed this listing and appears to be using it to promote their services, which I assume is why my edits have been declined well over a dozen times. Because they are not a business that members of the public can physically visit, they should not have their own listing at this location.
Clearly the owners are alive and active. They updated the listing just a week ago.
And they are not listed on the website of the mall they claim to be located in.
Based on the kind of services they offer they could easily be a business that do business only at clients places. If this is correct and it is legit then the listing should be a Service Area Business and not one with a physical address.
On the other hand this could be a lead generating business only. If this is the case I don’t think they are entitled to a listing on Google Maps. The amount of services they list could hint this is the case.
You could try the Maps Support, GBP help forum, or use the third party form found here.
