Hi everyone, I’m Arslan from Pakistan and this post is about how businesses are growing in Pakistan with Google Maps. Where I live, we face a shortage of gas in winters due to which we had to purchase a Gas Cylinder. My father asked me to find a place nearby where it was possible to purchase Gas. I started a search on Google first, then I thought of using Google Maps and I ended up with nothing so I was a bit disappointed. My father came back from prayer and told me about the Gas Station he heard nearby in our area which saved us an 8 KM ride and a lot of trouble. I went out to find the Gas Station and luckily found it out. While getting the cylinder filled with gas, a thought rushed through my mind.
“If people know about this location verbally why not add it on Google Maps due to which those who are looking for nearby Gas Stations can find it.”
I took some pictures and requested some necessary details about their business and added them to Google Maps. I took the time out and guided them about how to use Google Maps for their business. They enjoyed learning how it was possible to market their business using Google Maps. So, after a month we faced the same Gas shortage issue which led me back to the Gas Station but this time, everything was different. The owner saw me and first smiled, then he came and hugged me. I wasn’t sure at first what and why was this happening but later on, he explained to me how his customers increased and business started growing. He told me how he was able to upgrade his Gas Station. I was really happy for them and after that, I made it a habit of adding places to Google Maps whenever I visit any business.
The moral here is simply helping people improve their business and help them grow. A small request to all readers and some of them might be doing it. Whenever you visit a new business or place which isn’t available on Google Maps, add it with pictures and necessary details so people can learn about them. Google Maps is a great way of finding places & resources nearby. I love Google Maps and I wish to use it till the end. Thank you
