For me, a boy from a Latin American city, Local Guides is a source of constant movement and change that allows people living in the same area to connect so that the community can help itself grow and allow the discovery of places that would otherwise be hidden from most people. Especially in developing countries, where there is a lack of digital infrastructure, tools such as Local Guide allows a community to shape their cities and places in a digital way using a simple tool such as the cell phone, thanks to companies like Google for betting on technological inclusion by developing cheap and efficient solutions for the third world. Thanks to the Local Guide program, my community has been able to take the city to a digital level, for all the inhabitants, tourists, or simply anyone from their homes, who need to obtain information directly on their cell phones or devices.
Many businesses have received increases in their sales thanks to the application of these technologies, expanding the gastronomic and cultural scene of my city.
