I have a great job. I travel for a living. Ok that is a half truth, I am a consultant but that sounds boring. Due to being a consultant however I am afforded a unique opportunity. Travel the world and have someone else pick up the tab!
This has it’s downsides of course, it means that I am at the mercy of someone else’s opinion of what kind of room I should rest my head.
One of the reasons I joined Local Guides Connect was to chronicle my travels and the various hotels that I stay at, on the off chance that my experience will help make someone else’s experience a little bit better. This led of course to leaving a review about various places to eat and of course the obligatory food pictures.
The response to some of my pictures and reviews is amazing. Getting reports of how many people have viewed or read my review and used it to determine what they were going to do that day makes you realize how connected we all are.
I smile when I see the name local guides connect, because for me my reviews aren’t actually about my local area, but the area that I am local to at the moment. And my hotel reviews are not just about a hotel, but really about the places around the world that I call home when I am away from home.
