Hotel Vinayaka Mylari of Mysore

It’s almost noon in California, I am waiting for my first CL2019 attendee hangout and I am hungry! I thought of writing about the famous Dosa place in Mysore. The Original Vinayaka Mylari of Nazarbad, Mysore. There is a post inside this restaurant, telling that, this is the one only original Mylari in Mysore. There 3-4 copy cats in mysore with the same name.

Any way this is a must visit place if you love Masala Dosa. I make it a point to visit here for breakfast at least once, whenever I take a trip to Mysore. (which is generally once in two years). The place has not changed much, still crowded whenever I visit. There is some place in 2nd floor (in india it is first floor), you need to use stairs in the back. Since the place is very small, strangers need to share the same table some times, if your party is not big enough. the first picture shows, how a server brings multiple Dosas to serve, with butter dripping from top of each Dosa. Then another guy serves chutney. You genealaly end up eating 2-4 dosas. If you go early in the morning you can order idly as well. But they run out of idlys very quickly. If you get a chance to visit Mysore, I highly recommend to experience this restaurant!

Hello @jayasimha78 ,

Thank you for sharing this location and that delicious meal with us.

I love such popular places, far from luxury hotels, where one can find real tastes and get to experience the everyday life of the citizens of the particular country.

You shared several posts about Mysore, are you originally from there?
