Florence, Italy is one of the cities I like the most. Romantic Atmosphere , good taste of Italian cuisine, and Renaissance art. The weather was so nice in Spring.
I stayed at Hotel Nizza which is in a walking distance to the main train station, Firenze Santa Maria Novella station and Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, Ponte Vecchio, and other attractions.
I recommend to have dining at Smalzi restaurant which is close to the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. The cost is reasonable. Taste wine and pizza with a nice view of the Cattedrale.
I bet you love the city and the hotel from one of your previous posts.
Have you got the chance to visit Uffizi, probably the best art gallery in Florence right next to Palazzo Vecchio? If not I will show the two masterpieces of it’s collection.
For Pompei the best way is to land in Napoli, as it’s not so close to Florence @CilineR .
If you go there just for a couple of days is not worth to do both, but if you spent a week you can easily enjoy both and adding more places to visit maybe.
You are definitely right! Last time in Italy, I took one day for Florence, one day for Venice, two days in Rome. It’s really not enough! Especially Venice, I loved there. I should stay there at night ><;
I will tell you a little secret. The best thing for a tourist when is coming to Italy is visiting big cities like Florence, Rome or Venice. Once you get familiar with the territory and you get to know with locals by the way, little villages or countryside places are the most authentic ones. There you can taste the real Italian atmosphere.
