I recently enjoyed dinner in the intimate Chefs table private dining room at the French Bistro in Hotel Du Vin Edinburgh. This small room overlooks the kitchen, allowing diners to observe the buzz of activity as talented chefs prepare elegant French cuisine.
The service was warm and attentive throughout the meal. Our server expertly guided us through the menu, providing spot-on recommendations to match our preferences.
As expected, the food was very good. Highlights included the snails with a delightful garlic butter sauce.
While intimate, the Chefs table layout unfortunately obstructed some views to the kitchen, limiting the behind-the-scenes experience. Still, watching busy chefs assemble intricate dishes just feet away made for an immersive culinary show.
Overall, the French Bistro continues to deliver sophistication and refinement to Hotel Du Vin’s superb dining program. The personalized service and impeccable French fare in the Chefs table room made for a special night out. I will certainly return to sample more of their menu next time I’m in Edinburgh.
