In December 2019 I visited Historical Place Hossaini Dalan. i was very much impressed & wonder how much strong our history is. 10th Muharram of the Arabic year is a very important day for the Muslim community. The Hossaini Dalan was built in old Dhaka during the17th Century Mughal period to mourn the 10th of Muharram.

This Hossaini Dalan was built on a small scale during the reign of the Mughal Ruler Shah Suja. The building was later renovated and rebuilt by the East India Company in 1808, 1810, and after the earthquake in 1896.

Hossaini Dalan building is very beautiful and clean. These are the graveyards on the right side and the high Hossaini building in front. There is a huge pond on the other side of the building. Every day hundreds of people visit this place. Cool environment everywhere.

The building was built to mourn Shia Muslims Community on the 10th of Muharram. Every Arabian year 1-10 Muharram this Hossaini Dalan Bhaban becomes an attraction for everyone. On the 10th of Muharram, the largest Taziya procession of Bangladesh came out from this building.

Open or Close Time:

Everyday open 7 a.m. & close 9:00 p.m.

How to get there:

You can easily reach Hossaini Dalan by Nazim Uddin Road by rickshaw from Gulistan. Rickshaw Cost: 20-30 Bangladeshi Taka.
