Today while on my commute to work, I came across a very queer thing written on a gentleman’s scooty. He had posters saying that he cared about other people’s heart health and so he would not use horn.
This is something that caught my attention and I feel like sharing his good deed with all the local guides over the world so that we can all promote such good initiatives by good Samaritans.
Honking is an epidemic in India. People do not think before honking that this action of theirs is causing great deal of noise pollution, affecting health of people around them in a negative way…all those who think honking is just normal should learn from 1st world countries like UK & USA on how to survive without honking…
I absolutely agree with you. It’s a horrendous act! I have lived in the UK for about 4 years and there is literally no honking. Also I have seen some NRIs living there honking and it’s considered to be a very rude behaviour in the UK. When I returned to India, I had headache for a week because of the noise level in Delhi. Also in India people just use any kind of horns for their vehicle be it of ambulance or anything loud. They feel if it’s louder the better. Good that you came up with this post.
