Lately I have been having so many cravings. I’ve craved youghurt, noddles etc. Today i craved for cake and so decided to bake one. I haven’t baked for so long and have become rusty at it.
I remember how i learnt to bake. In my teenage years, my bff always baked cakes and it was so easy to sit and gist with her while she did it. One day while i was giving her ‘moral support’ she said; “i honestly hope you’ve learnt how to bake cos it will be a shame if after sitting with me all these times and you didn’t learn how to bake” . At this moment I dumped my moral support and paid attention to how she was doing it.
I melted the margarine first and blended it with the sugar and evaporated milk till smooth.
Then I sifted the flour and baking powder in a clean bowl. Added blended mixture to it and stirred till it became a smooth paste, then i added the favours, grated nutmeg and whisked eggs and stirred again.
Grease the pans with little amount of margarine and pour the mixture into it. Let it go into the oven for baking. I let it bake for 1hr 20minutes.
I used a blender to mix my melted margarine, sugar and evaporated milk because i do not have a cake mixer and honestly the blender did a good job.
Loved how the cake turned out, @NkemNwobu ! Vanilla cake is probably my favorite even though some people think it is plain, but it has a richness that I’m sure your cake has. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
May I also recommend editing your post to change the labeling to the food and drink area of Local Guides Connect? That way more cake lovers can find it there!
I love detailed receipe and even the pictures as well. The step by step description of how it was done. That’s how I love recipes Pasted on connect. Many a foodie are so taken up with the food that the receipe is left out. I also have posts you may you maybe interested in my Pineapple upside down cake and Carrot cake
Thank you for posting this maybe we will get more cakes,I mean more cake posts from you then . Am not promising that I will try this because am getting busy with work and life again but let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
Lest I forget I “love” the shape of the cake too. 🏾
@Austinelewex well a pity ou missed that cake,if I was in Nigeria and in your place am going straight for that cake. Thanks for the tag friend and for supports.
And how you learnt to bake the cake, that was really interesting… Your bff tried to realise you that she will be ashamed of you… If you won’t learn it.
By the way your efforts…
Images are saying that you did it amazingly…
But I have an issue…
If you had shared a cross sectional view of the cake, then I would be able to say that the cake is fluffy or not…
@SholaIB thank you so much for the kind words, it got me dancing right now . I totally agree with you on this, many foodies get carried away with the food that they forget the essence of sharing is for others to learn through the recipe. I am heading over to check out your post on carrot and pineapple cakes, maybe it will inspire me to try it out too . Thank you for the kind words.
