I am a linguistic student from a little town called Huaura, almost 150 km away from Lima. I have moved to the capital of Peru, Lima, 8 years ago and the only way I could find my way in this big city was through google maps. However, one thing I could notice those years was that some places in Lima had beautiful stories because of the many ancient cultures or historical sites but in google maps were mostly unknown for these attributes.
Every time I walked through the Lima Historical Center, I tried to took pictures and make reviews not only about how beautiful these places where, but also the importance of these historical places. There is the main square from the Spanish conquest time, there are a lot of old churches with a unique art such as sculptures or paintings from the XVI century. In addition to this, there are many museums that show part of our history as a Peruvians, from peruvian ancient cultures before the Inka Empire to the Spanish conquest and Peruvian Independence.
I strongly believe sharing these kinds of content would make people get more interested on these places in order to visit them more often. Besides, people need to have this knowledge about their heritage and its culture because it is part of our identity as members of a multicultural country full of diversity.
