Historical and cultural patrimonies in Bahia

The first Brazilian capital was Salvador, a city full of a great historical and cultural heritage. But the state of Bahia is not only limited to Salvador. Chapada Diamantina, the south of Bahia, the sertão and the Recôncavo are regions in which there are a huge historical, cultural and patrimonial diversity with beautiful natural landscapes, besides fascinating and friendly people.

In 2018, according to the Cultural and tourism Municipal Secretary and the Brazilian Association of the Hotels Industry, the state of Bahia received around 9 million tourists in 2018 that comes from different states in the country and also from different countries all over the world.

The dissemination of information on Catholic churches, museums, historical buildings and streets and cultural immaterial and material patrimonies is extremely important for the historical preservation and humanity appreciation. Besides, knowing places and people that carry a past, habits, culture and values is the first and great step for the construction of a global, fair and respectful society.

I agree with you @HomeroAndrade . The patrimonial, cultural and touristic value of the State of Bahia, but particularly of Salvador da Bahia is unquestionable. I had the pleasure of being there and feel the beauty of the city and the affection of those friendly people. Pelourinho, Ondina, Rio Vermelho are some names of regions of Salvador that are always in my memory for the vast and diverse tourist beauty and greatness patrimonial and cultural. And the testy food, hummm… unforgettable.
