HTHM8
I ran the 10 km. Green Run at the #Hiranandani #Thane Half Marathon today. This was the race’s eighth edition.
The marathon was a sea of saffron (don’t get any political ideas) the colour of the Tshirts given by the organisers.
The large ground near Rodas Enclave was used as the holding area and also had the stage and stalls.
#HTHM is a fun event, so we had fun and banter on the stage before and after the event.
One funny thing I noticed was runners casually sauntering in much behind the race start time for both the 21 km. And 10 km. Runs.
The course is a tiring one and more so this year as the loop to Kolshet was not used. It has lot of steep slopes which are best tackled by slowing down or walking.
The one good thing though is that the return to the finish line after the middle point is all down hill. They had a misting station on Gladys Alvares Marg for relief after the half point of the 10 km. Race.
The bhangra dancers, the lit up trees and the crowds were all there. Like last year, about 12000 runners took part in the three races which Included the 4 km. run.
So, one more #HTHM gets over. It continues to be a very well organised event. And for me the best race I have participated in.
This year the weather was pleasant, not too cold for running. The sun rise over the creek as one finished was a bonus.
Take a look at some pictures I clicked of the HTHM8.
