Hike in sands Mushrif Park Hiking Trails

I take this opportunity to write one of my Google Maps contribution stories as a part of # Celebrating 10 Years of Local Guides mapping the world, together.

I had visited Mushrif Park Hiking Trail in Dubai, UAE. It was a different and great experience to take the hike in sands. I have gone for trekks and hikes in rocky places. This trail in sands I had a new experience. I am going to share here on how the hiking was.

I started my hike after having a coffee at the coffee shop which is at the entrance itself. The welcome board itself is very very interesting. There’s also a warning sign post of scorpion and snake

In the beginning it wasn’t much sandy. After a few meters it became very sandy. So we cannot walk very fast.

There were wooden planks tied firmly with rope in places where there are ups and downs, since the sand below our feet slips away and we don’t get the grip. Below is the video of the place with planks.

The best place for those who wish to have long trails and this is exclusive sand walk which requires more effort to walk. As mentioned earlier this trail is very very interesting. The day I undertook this hike was cloudy and the weather was really great.

There are different levels of bike trails as well as walking trails. You can choose based on your capability. It’s worth trying this. I did 5 km hike up and down, because this is the first time I undertook this kind of hike. I walked upto a hanging bridge and climbed it, where you have to hold the side rope support to climb up the bridge.

All you need is carry water, drinks and snacks and a good walking shoes to take up this.
There are security guards at the entrance to help. In case of any problem they can be contacted. There are seating benches then and there, so that you can rest a while in between hiking. There are separate toilets :restroom: for men and women with bathrooms at the entrance. There are 2 restaurants with resting benches at the entrance, which are useful to refresh and rest when needed after hike.

Bicycles are available for rent. One has to take all the safety measures before undertaking this hike.

I finished my hike successfully. This is one of my best experiences in hiking. Hope you will also enjoy reading my day in the trail. If so please tell me in the comments what you felt reading this post. Also share your experiences.

Congratulations on successfully completing the hiking trail in the sand! Yes, walking on sand is quite challenging. I have experienced it myself on the sand dunes of Jaisalmer, where I spent a night in a tent amidst the dunes.

This is a unique experience.

This is very unique one indeed in sands.
Did the wind be an issue due so much sand around? Just asking.

Cheers!

If it is very windy, the sand will raise. Here we should have coolers always @AjitThite. This hiking experience is good.

Good to hear that you like trekks. Felt happy that you liked this post. We also will undertake trekking one day. Thanks for reading my post.

Thanks a lot maam. Yes @RosyKohli you can try. For sure it is possible. During my Vadodara trip Jitendra Pandya and his wife took me to Pavghad Temple. It’s 300 steps. She stopped halfway in between. But finally made it. She was telling me that I am coming to this after a long time. She had prayed that she will visit, but couldn’t fulfill her prayer. Since they accompanied me that day both of them could fulfill that prayer. So try ma’am you can do.
