Kwun Tong, a major industrial area in Hong Kong, has many hidden restaurants inside the industrial buildings which served mainly the local workers and residents nearby.
In a Sunday, I went to a shop for dumplings in Kwun Tong, located on the first floor of an refurbished factory buildings. Freshly handmade pork dumpling is the solo item of this family-running shop. There are two kinds of stuffing: cabbage with pork and leeks with pork. The pork is from Kagoshima. The dumplings are all cooked per-order, and the stuffing is very juicy and tasty.
The shop offers 3 sauces to eat with the dumplings, home-made chilly sauce, Japanese gyoza sauce and the sesame sauce. The staff taught us to mix the “perfect dumpling sauce” with those 3 sauces. And the outcome is surprisingly tasty! Price of 15 dumplings is just HKD50, which is very value for money. The portion is good enough for two people to share for the afternoon snack!
