I’ve recently started navigating my way around maps after posting one picture about two years ago & I didn’t know where it went till i stumbled upon google maps earlier this year. Then i started back contributing about three months ago, its really great knowing that the reviews, photos & videos we share makes a huge difference for other people.
Hi @AmiaRozek , Welcome to Local Guides Connect. I’m glad that you are having a great time contributing on Google Maps. You are correct, our contribution as a local guide makes the difference for others, and that is great. Here in Connect, you can search for local guides in your community, as well you can try to find them on Social Media. I’m tagging a fellow Local Guide from Miami, @SP31 who can help you connect with others.
Hi @AmiaRozek there are two members of the Google team who are Florida natives @brittym and @KatieMcBroom who live in New York now but I know they still call Floriday home and Program Manager @TraciC often goes to Florida for Disney World.
Welcome to Connect. It can be a little hard to find fellow locals on Connect, the best way I’ve found to do it is search for the name of a city or state or country and look at who wrote the articles.
Homestead is @SP31 's territory I’m from West Palm Beach and although I will be visiting home for a short period next week, I won’t be making my way that far south.
Hey there, @AmiaRozek ! Nice to meet you! Glad that you’ve found Local Guides Connect and have been enjoying contributing through Google Maps. Isn’t it great seeing how many people rely on your photos and reviews?
I live in North Miami-Dade but sometimes you’ll run into other Local Guides from Miami on Local Guides Connect, like how I learned about @LeoSRemedios through his Wynwood Art Basel post. In 2020, I hope to at least host a meet-up quarterly - I’ll add you to my follow list here on Connect!
I hope you find this experience enriching - welcome again!
To answer your question, I believe there are fellow Local Guides from Homestead here on Connect. I suggest searching the community for mentions of “Homestead” to find posts that have that name in the title, body of the post, or the location tag. Feel free to jump into those threads and connect with Local Guides in your area.
