Hello, my name is David Terron, I am a Local Guide level 8 on Google Maps and in this post, I want to introduce myself to the entire Local Guides community.
But first, I want to give my support to the entire Local Guides community that nowadays we are all strongly impacted by the spread of coronavirus ? (COVID-19). ? This will also happen and will happen much faster if we all respect the instructions given to us by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the governments of each country ???.
Well, I tell you a little bit about who I am. I was born in Valencia, a beautiful city full of light and color on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, in Spain ??. But since a few times over five years I have been working and living in Toulouse in the South of France ??. I am not far from my hometown and I can travel frequently to see my family and friends.
I like to travel and discover cities and places where I have not been before. I like to walk through its streets and feel like a citizen of that city. I enjoy visiting and photographing the most outstanding places of each city, its museums and monuments, its parks, its streets full of shops and people and those small corners that make the difference.
I also like to try the specialties of each area I travel to and whenever I can I enjoy photographing and sharing the meals that I have tried.
???But I have to tell you a secret, I don’t orient myself very well and I lost myself easily. Does it happen to you too?
This makes me very dependent on the maps of the cities where I travel, and I always look for a tourist office to ask for a map of the city. Now Google Maps has become an essential travel companion, not only as an orientation tool, but as an application to find any place in a city.
About five years ago I started as a Local Guide, at the beginning I was not very active, and I posted few photos and some shy comments. But this activity was increasing as I discovered that reading the comments and seeing the photos of other Local Guides helped me a lot to know what the experience would be like in this place.
Currently I actively contribute to Google Maps by uploading the best quality photos as possible and putting comments that can help, not only other Local Guides, but also businesses, restaurants, to improve their customer experiences or show my gratitude for that magnificent place.
