Hi Google and Hi Local Guides of the World!
My name is Roman, I am from Hungary, Europe.
I was very surprised when I got the invitation mail to a Google Campus, in San Jose, because I did not know the Connect Live event what was there before.
So wasn’t the reason why I became a Local Guide.
Then why?
Because it is a type of relaxation for me in my daily work.
When I received the invitation mail I was at 5th level.
Now, one and a half months later I got to level 7th. But I’m just enjoying this “job”.
You asked me to say why I’m proud to be a Google Local Guide.
Because I can help tourists and travelers discover local attractions in my neighborhood and my beautiful country, Hungary.
There are little things that are also important like find an ATM or a water pipe shop what is open in the weekend too.
I remember I needed a paint shop at sunday a few years ago. I had to drive around half day in a city to find one.
And now? That problem is solveable in seconds. It is very simple and quick with helps of Google Maps and the Local Guides.
And also I can take care of my environment because others and me drive less, find things quicker and save time. I think we can be proud of this too how we all make people life easier.
I’m trying to check existing places datas like address, opening hours and contacts details in my neighborhood.
If it’s contain fault I suggest modification.
I’m proud to help others with this and many Google users see my photos and videos and It helped more than thirty thousand people.
Makes me feel happy to help for other people with my answers who find it useful.
