I only learned last year what a local guide on google was and that was just by chance. I just happened to meet a couple of photographers at my favourite place on google maps Burton mere wetlands.
We started chattting as the gentleman had camera lens envy and he said he posted his photographs on google maps. It made me think so on my arrival at home ide took an extraordinary image so I posted it and i joined up.
From that point on it changed a lot in my life, it gave me a new vigorous energy to do what I love and this is wondering around the wirral peninsula taking in the fresh air, getting exercise and promoting this wonderfully diverse and wildlife rich county through my photography.
I know this must impact on others life’s as they can see my photography and also in a way choose to visit and come see for them selves, with over 1.2 million views this has made me proud of myself and helped my emotional well-being oh and google sent me some socks as a thank you so its nice to be appreciated to.
Im fitter, happier and healthier since joining the local guide and as a 56 year old thats a good thing.
