Hi my name is Francesco Vezzani. Born in Venice on April 21, 2001, I was a globetrotter since I was a child. Thanks to sailing, a sport that I have been practicing since I was 6 years old, I have traveled far and wide all over Italy alone, without parents.
( This foto was taken by Martina Ossini, during an National Championship in May 2019 in Livorno during the second day of Race. The weather was strong Wind and big waves, very scaring but incredibile.)For this reason, when I returned from my travels, I always told my experience to relatives and friends, without realizing it I made reviews on the places where I had been. I recounted the positive and negative experiences, and in the end I understood that those experiences had left me with something magical. Growing up, at the age of 14 I started giving advice to relatives or friends who asked me for information on the places where they knew I had already been. These advice I gave made me happy, but I felt that it was still not enough, in fact, for me, recommending a place meant, and still means today, to give an emotion. In fact, time is the most precious thing we have and giving advice for a place means making the listener spend happy time. When I discovered the Google Local Guide program I discovered the great possibility of making my reviews known not only to relatives and friends but to the whole world. For me Local Guide is a passion, since it means rewarding the places and people that make this planet a wonderful place to discover by traveling. So one summer while on vacation in the mountains in the Dolomites of Cortina d’Ampezzo I started making reviews of the refuges and natural parks where I went.
(This photo was taken by my cousin Artur. Here i am in August at the Forcella della neve ( Snow Fork) 2470 m in the Dolomiti Mountain )
Right from the start, thanks to the very high number of views of the reviews and photos, I realized how strongly my reviews were impactful. In fact, until then in the mountains very few people had made reviews of places and shelters and for this reason the managers of mountain shelters were hardly visible on the web. So, since I grew up in those mountains, thanks to the help of my uncle who together with my grandfather climbed all those peaks, I wrote useful reviews to hikers through practical information on travel times and names of the peaks that only one local guide can give.
(This Is the map of my reviews all around the Dolomiti Mountain)
For me, giving advice is a way of life, every place I visit is beautiful because it is unique and I believe that my Local Guide task is to describe the place and the experience you live in that place in such a way as to make it clear to who might like such an experience, giving him the opportunity to spend good weather.
“A place is never just “that” place: we too are a bit like that. Somehow, without knowing it, we brought it in and one day, by chance, we got there. (Antonio Tabucchi)”
That’s why I can say I have local guides in my blood and I’m proud of it and for this reason i’d like to be part of the Connect Live.
PS: I HOPE MY AGE WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM AND YOU WILL “DO THE RIGHT THING”
