Helping local businesses, maps and (your photo views) GROW.

It’s a triple win.

Help the business.

Help keep Google Maps, stay up-to-date.

See just how many photo views you can get!

First, Look for franchise or national companies. A great photo on a local business location for Herz, Verizon, McDonalds, you would be amazed! Don’t forget the small businesses. Some of the most views I have are local, one-store locations.

If they have do not have a store-front photo, take a good one and post it. I try and post a portrait and landscape but it will generally be the main photo as it is the only photo of the actual business (versus stock content, or nothing;)

Enjoy and stay safe!

Hi @DPCannon all photos to businesses should be in Landscape for optimal display. Only videos should be in portrait.

Hi @DPCannon

Nice tip, but your choice of example: Hertz car rentals is not the best. Herts is one of the businesses that manage their listings from the head office and they rule pretty much which photos they want to be the cover photo on their listings. So it is not very likely that a storefront photo from a local guide will become the cover photo of Hertz listings.

But in general, the idea is correct. Google’s AI assigned to select the cover photos very much prefer storefront pics where the business name is clearly visible. And they can give you tons and tons of views.

Cheers
