Helping great artisans get the recognition and business they deserve

I take pride in the power and responsibility of being a local guide. I know that people count on my reviews, photos, and stories to help them make decisions about how they want to spend their time, their energy, and their money. And I know that businesses count on me to review fairly, honestly, and tactfully. (You never know what child’s father might end up losing their job as a dishwasher because of a reviewer who was in a bad mood that day.) —So, I am always thrilled when I run into a jewel of a business that is not sufficiently reviewed and recognised on Google Maps. Especially where I live, where natives and many businesses still somewhat distrust Google Maps, but foreigners like me are flooding in every day and count on this information, I know my review makes a difference in everyone’s lives. Here, for instance, is the lychee tea at Cha for Tee, this perfectly amazing little Chinese tea and dumplings spot near my place. It should have a gazillion 5 star Google reviews, but it is small, it is quiet, it is off the beaten track, and it is not a cuisine that is currently very trendy in my city. Perfect! I love their attention to detail, their craft, their keen insistence on each item being exquisite, all the flavours balanced, and everything beautiful. I love that I can tell people about this and bring business in for them. I love that I can help artisans who deserve my help. In fact, I’m going to go there right now!
