I love food! However, when you have substantial food allergies, dining out can be difficult or even dangerous at times. The reason why I started reviewing places on my travels was to provide info to those with similar struggles. My name is Alita and, due to medical reasons, I have dietary restrictions including a dairy allergy that requires medical intervention (cross contamination is an issue). I love food and new flavors and have decided to document and share my experiences with others, both good and bad, in order to help others with similar medical restrictions go out and live a foodie life at a calculated risk. I will gladly calculate those risks so others don’t have to.
My partners, most of my friends, and majority of my family are carnivores/ omnivores with healthy systems and little to no restrictions, so I pride myself in being able to find establishments that satisfy all pallets with good allergy protocol so all parties involved can enjoy the experience and no one is worried about an ER visit. I also pride myself in recognizing creativity when it comes to discovering those that can create “comfort food” using atypical ingredients with passion and flare. I am not shy and I love when my food isn’t either.
This is why I do this. From a mom and pop best kept secret to a Michellen Star chef, I want to try them all and let everyone shine accordingly. I do this for myself. I do this for the allergy ridden. I do this for the cuisine creators. I do this for my friends, family and loved ones. I do this for the adventurous, the foodies, the creatives, and the curious. I calculate the risk and always come prepared so hopefully others don’t have to make more of a risk than they bargain for. I will gladly put myself out there and be itchy so others don’t have to. Thank You for this opportunity.
