Help With Google Edits

On several occasions, I have tried to fix a business listing, as the GMB was keyword stuffed. The name of the business on the website is completely different than that of the GMB, yet the Google algorithm is auto declining my edits. What do I need to do to stop the Google Algorithm from auto declining my edits? My reviews still come up just fine, but for some reason, Google auto declines even simple edits that are easy to verify.

Hy,

I also faces this problem many times.

So now a days, when i make a visit to place, always remember to bring ID card or flier, or a menu card.

And the supported pics to verify.

Now i noticed that whith supported pics, Google algorithm is not directly declined edits.

Try this…

Check out my profile on google Map.

Hello @digitalnomadme

If you are talking about GMB,this is not the right community for your issue, that should be addressed on the Google My Business forum.

Please do not write in this community to represent your business. This is against the Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions : “Organizations, brands, and businesses are not eligible for the Program.”

Nevertheless there has be a problem with edits on the maps since today and the concerned team are working on it. Therefore if it’s edit you mean the Google team are aware and are working on it. So please confirm which one you really mean. Thank you.

I’m not talking about my business. I’m talking about Google auto declining edits I’m making to businesses on Google Maps, and that is tied to the Google Local Guide program.

TLDR: I’m not seeking help with a particular Google My Business page, I’m seeking help with why Google is auto declining edits I make as a Google Local Guide.

Knowing this, would you still recommend I open a ticket on the Google My Business forum? It seems like the wrong place to me. In addition, this is not a new problem from yesterday or today, but an on-going issue.

Please kindly use the tagging tool "@" followed by the username of the one you are replying to. Thanks

Now,if it’s a question of normal edit you have done the right thing and you don’t need to go to GMB sorry about the mix up. There is an issue since today about edits and I had the same problems and there is a thread of post to that effect but if it’s an on-going issue and you feel you need further assistance, please kindly tag a moderator.

N.B please have a look at this post as well it’s about Why-is-my-edit-status-Pending-or-Not-Applied

Hi @digitalnomadme

@SholaIB mentioned @Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”?

You may also find How to make sense of Google’s responses to your edits interesting since Approved, Not applied, and Pending are explained in more detail.

And recently I posted How to get Edits and New Places Approved with lots of tips that could be relevant for you.

Hi @digitalnomadme

This is unfortunately a very common experience, due to several factors:

  • This kind of violation is very common especially in claimed business. Edit a claimed business, and have your edit approved, is more difficult than edit a not claimed business, for the simple reason that a claimed businesses is “Verified by Google Maps”
  • A claimed business has the possibility to self deny your edit, or to revert it back.

For this reason I usually submit this kind of edits on night. Many of them are approved quickly, but if the amount of keywords that I remove is very long normally they are rejected.

10% of the approved edits are revert back in a couple of days.

In this case my suggestion is to use the Business Redressal Complaint Form ( https://support.google.com/business/contact/business_redressal_form ) to report the violation directly to Google My Businesses because the business is spamming through the name, and this is a violation of the rules related to naming a business in Google Maps ( https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177#zippy=%2Cname )
