I am a beginner of Voice Navigation by Car.
I need your help yo kick start.
When I say “ok Google, Go home”, Maps always giving me Walking Directions instead of Driving. How can it be fixed?
And, please help me to find useful voice commands when using Maps Navigation in Android. Or iOS if they are different.
A million thanks in advance!

Hi @YK1001 ,
It is certainly possible setup your commute option on Google Maps. You can visit this Help Center article to learn how - Plan your commute or trip .
I use the Google Assistant for a lot, a lot of stuff. I have setup my smart home gadgets in variety of ways, so feel free to ask me anything.
By the way a very handy-dandy list of commands for the Google Assistant you can find here - OK Google Commands .

Thank you very much for the leads, @GeorgesHR !
I have set my commute option to driving.
And in Android’s homepage, I start with:
Hey Google
Navigate to PLACE
-Assistant still giving a walking direction, then opened Maps, with Navigation started in Walking mode.
Question:
How can I make sure Assistant to give me directions in the mode I want? Driving, Walking, Transit, Motorcycle, Bicycle?

Hey @YK1001 ,
Interesting that the changes did not apply. Are you using two accounts on your phone? That is the only reason I can think of.
When giving the Google Assistant commands, you can also tell him to give you walking or driving directions to the place.

@YK1001 you will enjoy this so much ,
maybe because you use it much before with walking mode so when u said ok google take me home gives you walking direction ,
this happened with me many times , but i change it to driving mode , now by default gives me driving mode
or just give command
ok google take me driving to work
or
ok google take me walking to work

I have only one account, so I am puzzled, @GeorgesHR .
I agree Maps might be remembering if I am walking or driving in the past, @OSAMA .
So how to override the history, and have Google Assistant giving me what I wanted is the focus now.
I will try out your voice commands and see.

Hi @YK1001 ,
Did you manage to test during the weekend?
You can try deleting history article here - Delete directions and places from your history .

Thanks for asking, @GeorgesHR .
I just tested with @OSAMA 's suggestions
Take me driving to place, then got this
So now I am getting a driving directions. Then, using voice only, how to select a particular option, and start the navigation?

@YK1001
when u have more than one option u can give the command for nearest , or if you see its the second option for example just say:
okay google take me to the second option
or to the first option and as u asked first for driving route
its automatically start driving navigation to the place u asked for

Hi @OSAMA ,
Google Assistant will open Maps, after I choice the 1st option, then “start navigation”.
But once Maps is loaded, there is no action.

Hello @YK1001
I have also face this problem many times, but i see one think when distance is short then google automatically gives me walking direction; and driving direction for long distance.
If you use “go home by driving” then it will gives you driving direction.
If you use “go home by walk” then it will gives you walking direction.

Hi @AbdullahAM ,
Thanks for the tips.
Now I know how to get specific mode of directions for driving, walking, transit, etc.
The remain problem is how to have Google Assistant to start the Navigation by car after I seeing GA’s suggestions.
I want to avoid touching the phone if possible. As here in Canada, touching the mobile device is an offence by law.

Okay @YK1001
sometimes the navigation not open directly so ,
Give the command when choose the option to start the navigation
Say
Okay Google : take me to the second option and start navigation .
This will start the navigation directly
