In a matter of minutes my Local Guide points dropped by seven! I took a screenshot of my Maps contributions page moments before answering a publicly posted question about an area park — previously at 20,900 points and seconds later I dropped to 20,893 points.
_Extremely disturbing! Not only did I not earn three points for my contribution for answering a question, I lost seven points. Why and how could this have occurred? @JackKilheffer _

Thanks for seeking help for here. You said that your 7 point got lost. It’ s may happens for several causes. Most of it’s could be happened, if your review or photo have been reported as inappropriate content or anything else. As a result of report may your contribution was removed. So that, your point was decreasing.

Hello @CatC As @SayeedP indicated, it happen for several reasons (if a contribution doesn’t adhere to Google’s policies. it can be removed, also if a place is removed from Google Maps, you can also lose these points for your contributions there, etc.).
However, it can also be a sync reason. So, please wait about 24-48 hours for data to sync up again on the backend. And maybe these points will get back.

Thank you so much for your assistance @SayeedP but unfortunately I beg to differ. Familiar with the rules and policies of the Program, if that were accurate my accumulative ‘Review’ points should be reflective of that and it is not.
Additionally, it occurred in a 6-minute time window and seems beyond coincidence that at the very same time I offer my assistance to answer a question, my points are depleted (in actuality by a total of 10 points) are very unlikely.
I have seen some threads recently regarding a known sync issue and will certainly give it 24-hours. Thank you @AlexandreCampbell and to you as well @SayeedP and Happy Holidays to you both!
