Help others, help yourself!

“Hey! Can you plz help me locating ‘Khusro Bagh’?” A guy took his head out of his car and asks a local passenger riding a bike. The rider replies, “Yes, of course.” “Go straight, turn left, but don’t go towards flyover, take a road left to the flyover and go straight about 400 meters, bla bla bla… and you reach the destination.” The seeker says thank-you to him and about to move, suddenly rider stops him and says, “wait, but you are in the four-wheeler, that lane is narrow… there’s another road which could take you to place, but it will be tough to direct you there…” umm… well, i can take you there, if you follow me." The car driver feels obliged and nods to follow him.

This is not a moral fiction but a commonly seen practice here in our city Allahabad (Prayagraj). We, even being busy in our daily business, love to take initiative helping others, directing people to reach their destinations. This is kinda quality which I inherit from my citizens, and feel proud to propagate further.

And, most importantly, now I have an assistant with me, Google Maps, which help me to extend my help even greater yet in easier manner.

Hi Sharad, great post and a good job helping others in your busy schedule. Indeed the cultural and traditional aspects of we Indians are extremely human to help each and every other person around us making their lives easier. One day or the other we ourselves may be in such an awkward situation and need help of the local residents to reach our destination. I totally agree with you that Google has provided us with a step-by-step guide wherever we move, it does not only take us to our destination but it also provides us with detailed information about what is around us - good hotel to stay, restaurant, cafeteria, entertainment spot and others.
