Help needed with adding an attraction (a cave)

Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me how I can add an attraction to Google Maps/Street view/Google My Business?

We have scanned a cave in Romania which resulted in a 3D virtual tour. In order to add that tour to Google and for people to be able to explore the cave directly from Google Street View, I need to connect the tour to a Google My Business account.

If I start a Business acount, there is no option for free attractions, just for businesses.

Please advise.

Thank you!

Any LG and Maps user can add new places on Google Maps, @Ewanna42 .

Have you tried this? Normally, there needs to be a website and a phone number registered to the place. If not, it can be difficult to get new places approved.

There might be an issue with you trying to own the place as it is likely not yours. You don’t need to own the place to add a virtual tour.

Cheers

Morten

PS: As a virtual tour creator you may want to ensure the place are already on Google Maps before making a tour. It can take time to get the creation approved.

Hi @Ewanna42 !

I want to tell you that it´s not required to have/open a Google My Business account to add a place ti the map. As @MortenCopenhagen already told you, anyone can add a place to the map. Once the place already exists in the map you will be able to link the virtual tour to that place/business listing.

You need to do the following to add a place to Google Maps:

  • Open the hamburger icon ☰ on the Maps Menu
  • Select the “Add a missing business” option
  • In the category option select the best available option (“Tourist Attraction” for example).
  • Before you submit make sure that the details and location are as accurate as possible.

You can check the following article for additional information as well: Add a missing place to the map. Your suggested changes might take some time to appear on the map since they need to be reviewed beforehand.

I hope this provides some help to you because i can see in your profile that you have never added a place to Maps, but there is always a first time for everything.
