I’m new to the Local Guides program, but I’ve come across a review that clearly violates Google’s guidelines, and I’m looking for some advice on how to get it removed. I flagged it several weeks ago, but received a response saying it wasn’t a violation, even though it clearly is.
The issue is that the review is for a totally different company, and it’s unfair to the small business that it was left on. The review doesn’t mention or address the business it’s posted under.
If you are related to the business, please know that Local Guides should not act or help family and friends running a business on Google Maps. It is considered conflict of interest.
The reviewer specifically mentions that “the first two adjusters that came to our house were employed by Eberl,” then goes on to criticize Eberl, implying that this local business is somehow connected to them.
However, this business is an insurance agency and has no affiliation with Eberl. Shouldn’t this review be posted on Eberl’s page instead? It could easily confuse potential customers and doesn’t accurately represent the reviewer’s experience with the business she reviewed. It seems like she’s venting her frustrations with a completely different company on this business’s listing. If you look at her profile, her only
other review is about her employer, which is also against google’s guidelines if I am not mistaken.
I don’t have any ties to this business, but I understand the influence of Google reviews and believe it’s unfair to post things that could harm a small business or mislead consumers, especially when the review is clearly about another company, which is even named in the review.
I’ve encountered a review that violates Google’s guidelines and need advice on getting it removed. I flagged it weeks ago, but Google responded saying it didn’t violate their policies, even though it clearly does.
The review is actually about a totally different company, and isn’t directly from an interaction with this business, the reviewer should be speaking to the business and the corporate parent company, not the local independent shop. It’s unfairly posted on a small businesses page.
