Help needed to find dialysis centers in Miami

Hello everyone:

In the first place, I apologize for posting this request here, but I could not find a more adequate category.

The situation is this:
My nephew (an adult, 35) and his girlfriend will travel to Miami for one week next May. Unfortunately he has renal failure, so he depends on dialysis three times a week. I have been searching through Google Maps, and I did find some centers. But I have not been able to get the most important details, such as what medical records they will ask for, what patient history details they need to know, or any other considerations, such as fees (charges implied), what types of payment they will accept (credit cards, cash, etc.).

One important point is that the centers must be near the hotel he has reservations in: Hotel Loews Miami Beach, 1601 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139.

So, I would greatly appreciate that a Local Guide, from Miami area, will kindly search and let me know what he or she finds. Probably the best way to do this would be going to the centers to ask directly to the managers. I understand what I am asking is really a big favour, but this is the only way I can be confident that my nephew won’t have any problem.

Also, if there are any dialysis patients association in Miami, that could be a good starting point. They surely know where are the dyalisis centers, as well as if they are good or not.

Thanks, with warm regards from Osorno, Chile.

Hi @RodolfoJofre did you know that Google Maps can already handle this query? Just open up maps.google.com (or the app) and enter “dialysis near miami beach” and you will get all the information you need to find the places and contact them yourself to find your answers. You can use the reviews and ratings of Local Guides to tell you if they are good or not and you can ring them (or use chat if they have it turned on) to find out about the fees and appointment requirements.

Asking other Local Guides to do this groundwork for you is a little unreasonable IHMO.

Hi Paul.

Thanks for your answer. I did what you suggested and I could find several places near the hotel location. I had done it before, but for some reason I do not know, Maps did not return the same results that appeared now. Perhaps the fact that now I included the ZIP code made the difference. We will call some dialysis centers tomorrow morning (here it is still Sunday night).

Besides, I would like to apologize for crossing a cultural line when asking to do some “groundwork” as you say.

Nevertheless, I also must point out that being latin american, I would be more than willing to do a personal physical search in my area, if someone asked me so. And this is not criticism, but it is just a matter of different cultural patterns.
